ZERO
A sea of energy
ZERO
If we started at point zero, how would we look at reality and experience life? Two individuals dive into a sea of energy, reconnecting with identity.
A magnetic performance of immersive sound, hypnotising lights, and virtuosic movement where the two dancers entangle through a ritualistic journey. Experience a spiritual dance and get transported into a dream-like world of imagination and beauty.
The symbiotic connection between the two dancers and the synchronicity of their movement brings an entrancing effect to the viewer. Powder-like stardust lies on the floor shaping a circle surrounding the performers and morphs as the piece unfolds, to leave a swirling print on stage at the end of the show.
ZERO was created over a period of one year, with a four months field research in India. There, Julia and Rudi shared practices with local artists and carriers of wisdom from Manipur, New Delih and Ponducherry. This production was widely inspired by their interaction with Sheela Raj as well as the community of Auroville, in South East India. Part of the creation happened in the natural landscape of Ireland, where Julia and Rudi underwent a collaborative research with cellist Gyda Valtisdottir from the Icelandic group mum at Shawbrook.
